Years ago, while in college, Abike Farley—also known as Lady Farley—discored her passion for writing. She expressed to her Professor an interest in writing, and at the suggestion of her Professor, she began journaling her life.

Years passed. She wrote sporadically; shifting her focus toward building a career in corporate America.

Then one day, she attended a company event and witnessed the late Dr. Maya Angelou (an American poet and civil rights activist) give a motivational speech that gave her a kick in the knee. Abike realized that if Dr. Maya Angelou was able to go after her dreams despite facing many hardships, she had no excuse.

Since then, she has published five books (2 poetry, a divorce book, Christian romance, and children's book). She is an author, a GED (General Education Development) teacher, preacher, speaker and the Executive Director at Farley Productions, Inc.

Abike connects women to women at Farley Productons, Inc. Over the years, she built a solid network. She has pushed many women out of their comfort zone and taught them to fully own their craft.

One of the women she helped is Angela Holmes. This is what she shared, “[Lady Farley] has helped me get more vending events. She also helped me with expanding my candles to the young generation, and tried to help me get the public schools to do a candle fundraiser.”

Abike understands the importance for every entrepreneur to have the right exposure. She goes above and beyond to teach women how to walk in their purpose, and show them effective ways to promote their products/services.

Holmes added, “The one thing that I loved the most was the mini podcast that [Lady Farley] did for me. She had to really get me out of my shell to speak about what I do and why I love it so much.”

Abike works with women who are professionals in their field, and who seek to sharpen their skills. She has trained many to be effective public speakers. Recently, she secured a contract for some of the women in her network to attend New York City public schools and address ways to erradicate violence.

Holmes also says that Abike is “a strong woman of color who encourages men/women/young adults by educating, motivating and empowering them to believe in themselves while pursuing their dreams in life."

When she is not hosting an author's forum, she is training women to become leaders in their own right. Hearing words of wisdom from Dr. Maya Angelou gave Abike the boost she needed to go after her dreams. She is inspiring a community of women to be dedicated, educated, and persistent. But most importantly, she wants to be remembered for loving God in all situations.

To my daughter Asha, continue to walk the paths of our Ancestors and stand on the shoulders of giants. God is in you and you cannot fail.

Abike and her lover

My Fiance is very supportive. I feel so blessed to have him gird me up with his love and he reminds me constantly that God has a plan. It’s important for any persons in any agreement to be like minded and to walk in the same direction. And because we are soul-mates; we accept our busy and difficult days and enjoy the good ones.
